Tennis in Nairobi Kenya started officially in 19th century through the inception of the Kenya Lawn Tennis Association – KLTA. It was influenced by the white community, introducing sports activities . As a result of this growth, Mr Jim Davies, who had a great passion for tennis conceptualized the idea of having professional training facility and staff to meet the growing demand and interest tennis in Kenya generated. This was the beginning of JD Tennis Academy in Nairobi Kenya.Tennis kenya was registered in 1975 and the facility only had one court – a murrum court later changed its name to JD Tennis Academy. Many years later, as the sport progressed and the academy grew, there was need to expand and we therefore added 3 deco-turf courts. Overall, our set up comprises of 3 hard courts and 1 murrum court a mini tennis court and a club house We offer training for both toto’s(bellow 5 years), juniors and adults, there is group training and private tuition, depending on the individual taste.
